Prior to being named Superintendent of DCPS, Dr. Vitti was the chief academic officer of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), the fourth-largest school district in the country. As the chief academic officer, he led 70 traditionally lower-performing schools in the county. He also managed the departments of Title I, Title II, Early Childhood/Head Start, School Improvement, Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Career and Technical Education.
