Nikken Shonin, our Sixty-seventh High Priest of the Head Temple, provided us with the following instructions:

In the early morning of December 12th, Nikken Shonin transferred the Living Essence of the True Buddha to the Most Rev. Nichinyo Hayase through which He became the 68th High Priest, Nichinyo Shonin.On December 15th, Nikken Shonin stepped down from His position as High Priest.

First, Nikken Shonin led ceremonial Gongyo with many priests and laity in attendance.At the Jigage portion of the Juryo chapter, High Priest Nikken Shonin called the name of His successor "Nichinyo Shonin" to take the Seat of the High Priest at that moment.When Nichinyo Shonin was seated on the High Priest's Seat, Nikken Shonin moved to the other High Priest Seat on the east side of the hall, facing each other.
