In the presence of the Leader of the City of Cardiff Council, Councillor Phil Bale, and its Chief Executive Paul Orders, chairman Nigel Roberts formally introduced Cardiff Business Council to the audience of major employers and organisations and invited them to sign up to become a member.
highlighted the key successes to date for the Business Council since its inception towards the end of last year:
Chaired by South Wales businessman Nigel Roberts, the Business Council board consists of leading figures drawn from business, commerce and academia and will be the primary interface between the City of Cardiff Council and organisations wanting to do business in the Cardiff Capital Region.
It will have a "direct line" into City of Cardiff Council
decision makers, and drive and shape the continuing economic development of the Cardiff Capital Region, promoting it as a preferred destination for business and tourism through a programme of events in the region, London and in key territories around the world.
"We are adopting an ambitious approach to marketing Cardiff internationally, as befits a capital city, including having a presence in London, New York, Beijing and Brussels, and creating a programme of international events to showcase the city," said Mr Roberts
