Nigel Clarke is senior partner of Learned Lion Partners. He is a director of Vidapulse Ltd, Really Easy Ltd, Newscounter Ltd and Advanced Transport Systems Ltd. He has worked on the interfaces of public policy for 25 years. He has been chair of the General Osteopathic Council since May 2001, having been a lay member since it was formed. He is now a member of the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence.

Mr Clarke is a member of the Professional Conduct and Audit Committees.
Mr Clarke's career in public policy started at the Special Programmes Unit of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), and then at the House of Commons.
Mr Clarke developed offices in Eastern Europe, and the healthcare policy practice, which occasioned a chance meeting with a leading osteopath anxious to achieve statutory regulation for the profession.
This ultimately led to the Osteopaths Act 1993, and an invitation to serve as a Lay Member of the General Osteopathic Council on its inception.He was elected Treasurer in 1997, and then Chairman in 2001.
Mr Clarke also serves as a trustee of the Prince of Wale's Foundation for Integrated Health, and is involved in the charity Changing Faces, which seeks to help those with facial disfigurement.He also serves as Senior Partner of Learned Lion Partners, Chief Executive of medical research business PulseCare Inc, and is a non executive director of Advanced Transport Systems Ltd'.In his business life, he now works as a Company Director.

From 1985 - 2003, Nigel was a partner of GJW, then Europe's leading government relations firm.
In 2003, he created Learned Lion Partners to set up, invest in and advise projects in business areas with strong public policy influence. He was an early investor in ULTra Global, and now serves on its Board as a non-executive director. Other projects include medical research though Vidapulse Ltd, and home healthcare through SureCalm Healthcare Ltd, created in 2010 and sold in 2012.
In 2007, he chaired an Inquiry into a possible future professional body for pharmacy in the UK, and following the Report of the Inquiry, chaired the Transitional Committee creating the prospectus for the new Body. This was published in November 2008, and forms the basis of the now reformed Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Nigel served on the General Osteopathic Council (the regulator of the profession in the UK) from its inception in 1996 until 2008, being chairman from 2001-2007; and on the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence, a UK Government body, from 2003-2008.
