The London-based Dorchester Collection is pleased to announce that Nigel Badminton, Deputy General Manager of The Dorchester will be taking over as Hotel Manager of The New York Palace, which recently joined Dorchester Collection.
studied Hotel Management at the Hotel School of South Africa
recently attended the Business Leaders Programme at Cranfield University's School of Management
and the Leadership Development programme at the Centre for Creative Leadership
.After working for The Mount Nelson Hotel in South Africa, and Intercontinental Hotels, Gleneagles Hotels and Chester Grosvenor Hotel in the UK, he joined The Dorchester in 1990 as Rooms Division Manager when the hotel was closed for refurbishment.
As part of the re-opening management team he
played a role in re-establishing The Dorchester
as London's premier hotel.He was promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager in 1996 and, amongst other duties, has been responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing many State and Official visits. Commenting on his new role, Badminton says: "Working at The Dorchester has given me a great insight into what can be brought to The New York Palace Hotel.
