3 Ways Upgrading Radiology Imaging Software Helps Improve Productivity

www.medicalimagingtalk.com [cached]

We asked Bergeron, along with Nicole Wichlei, Product Manager, Infrastructure and Workflow Solutions at McKesson, what benefits from upgraded equipment are helpful in improving productivity and fostering better patient care.
"The failure to communicate actionable findings properly such as critical test results, urgent/unexpected findings, and discrepancies can harm the patient," Wichlei says. Wichlei asks. She cites one study from the Journal of General Internal Medicine which reported that physicians failed to follow up on as many as 36% of radiology reports. "Abnormal imaging results with recommendations for additional imaging may be more vulnerable to lack of timely follow-up," she continues. asks Wichlei.

"With QICS the radiologist can select the study they want to follow-up with, directly in PACS, and the system will monitor if follow-up study is scheduled or send an alert if it has not been scheduled in an appropriate timeframe," says Nicole Wichlei, director of the McKesson QICS product line.
