Christopher Cole, left, executive director of AIDS Project New Haven, and Nick Boshnack, director of clinical services, are photographed at APNH offices in New Haven recently.
Nick Boshnack, client services director at AIDS Project New Haven, said Walters and Nadine are two of the longtime clients among the 350 to 400 who make use of the clinic each year. Diseases of aging, such as diabetes, are more common, and besides preventive services, intensive counseling to keep them healthier is needed, Boshnack says. Theres increased inflammation being on HIV medications for an increased period, as well as heart disease, cancer and neurological disorders, he says.
