Nestor Santiago, regional director of the Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol, assured that measures are in place to prevent the spread of disease in evacuation centers. Santiago said medicine and other supplies have already been released and brought to these centers. He said he already dispatched several teams to monitor medical conditions and water sanitation in evacuation centers and conduct rapid assessment and disease surveillance. "I think the province of Albay is already well prepared especially on the numbers of the evacuation centers as they are used to this calamity.Maybe, our problem would be more on the sanitation and supplies of water but we already have plans on this," Santiago said in a separate ANC interview. Santiago added that he and his team will start the measles vaccination if the evacuees stay for more than three days in the centers.
