Since joining EFFP in May 2004, Neil has been the champion of EFFP's governance work, leading a three year project, funded by Defra, to improve governance in collaborative businesses.
has carried out detailed analysis of farmer controlled businesses governance practice and helped them to move closer to best practice standards.
Detailed work with several companies has helped them produce long term strategic plans.

Board advice has also focused on the identification and treatment of risk within a companies operations and external environment.
Neil joined EFFP from The Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative where he was Supply Manager responsible for member relations, quality, supply planning and technical support to members.
early career was with Promar as a dairy consultant.
He graduated in agriculture at Harper Adams and has an MBA from The Open University.

He is also a non-executive director for a retail co-operative in the South West which gives him hands on experience of board issues and the current food retail environment.
