Skeptic News | 9/11 WTC Attack Predicted by Baha'i
www.skepticnews.com, 28 July 2003 [cached]
Neal Chase, Knight of Baha'u'llah and Board member of the Universal House of Justice currently in its appointed stage as the second International Baha'i Council, explains (well, mostly just rambles) in a press release how the Baha'i used the Bible to predict the WTC attack on 9/11.He warns that all Americans must turn to God to prevent a prophesied one hour of thermonuclear war that will destroy every city in America with a population over 100,000, and kill one third of mankind.Yeesh that's an ugly press release -- both the format and the content!

In December of 2001 Neal Chase made his Proclamation as the Guardian of the Baha'i Faith. But with his Proclamation Neal made some significant changes to Baha'i doctrine that contrast to what Dr. Jensen and Neal himself taught just a few years prior. This is one in a series of these before & after contrasts of Neal Chase's teachings.
This one focuses on Neal's position on the second International Baha'i Council:

Chase has served as a board member of the Second International Bahá'í Council since its inception on January 9th, 1991.He is believed by the Bahá'ís Under the Provisions of the Covenant to be the 4th Guardian of the Bahá'í Faith. As Guardian he is the acting President of the Second International Bahá'í Council.

In December of 2001 Neal Chase made his Proclamation as the Guardian of the Baha'i Faith claiming to be Joseph Pepe Remey's successor. But with his Proclamation Neal made some significant changes to BUPC doctrine that contrast to what Dr. Jensen and Neal himself taught just a few years prior. This is one in a series of these before & after contrasts.
This one addresses laws of adoption as it relates to the Baha'i Faith:
Neal Chase before his Proclamation - December 1989:
...
Neal: … He'd have to take him down to the courthouse and adopt him.
...
Neal Chase after his Proclamation - December 2005:
They claim that according to the British Mandate governing Palestine during the lifetime of `Abdu'l-Baha, his public and written declarations to Charles Mason Remey of "my dear son" and "my son" constituted a legal adoption between the two and is in complete accord with the laws and traditions governing the country of residence at the time of the adoption as upheld by the British Mandate in the West, and the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.
By referencing the First Amendment of the Constitution I believe Neal is trying to say U.S. law defers to religious law.But as mentioned previously there are no adoption laws to be found in Baha'i scriptures or legislated by a Baha'i authority at the time in question. And Neal's current belief that the "my boy" evidence constitutes adoption according to Baha'i law contrasts with what he said previously about the need to go by the laws of the land, i.e. going to a courthouse in the West in order to make the adoption legal.

This one focuses on the fact a succeeding Guardian cannot be appointed in a last will and testament:
Neal Chase before his Proclamation - December 1989:
…the Will and Testament of ‘Abdu'l-Baha states that the Guardian must appoint his successor in his lifetime not in a will which is only effective after the lifetime of the Guardian when he is dead.

Chase further asserts his claim of appointment with the fact that the Executor of Pepe's estate was enjoined by Pepe's Will to bestow certain artifacts from Pepe's estate in person to Chase, including the "Locks of Hair and Drops of Blood of Bahá'u'lláh" that `Abdu'l-Bahá had left for Remey upon His passing in 1922.
...
This artifact was an inheritance from Remey to his son Pepe, and along with a Lapus Lazuli ring that Remey had commissioned, were bequeathed to Chase in Pepe's Will.

Chase points to a series of letters where Pepe refers to Chase as "my dear boy" and "my son" as evidence that Pepe adopted him in the same manner that ‘Abdu'l-Baha adopted Mason Remey.
...
[Note: No evidence has ever been presented that Pepe referred to Neal as "my son".]
...
Neal's "my boy" claim has always puzzled me due to the fact he used to joke about the "Danny boy" case. This along with the fact that at the exact same time in the Fall of 1991 when Dr. Jensen and the sIBC were explaining the insignificance the term "my boy", Neal was receiving the "my boy" letters from Pepe which he would later use as evidence for his adoption. The hypocrisy is staggering. He is unable to explain why his "my boy" declaration is a valid adoption while Danny's was not.
