The J&K Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora said that tourists have contributed a lot to the economic growth of Ladakh and as such the Minister asked the people to maintain cultured hospitality with the tourists which would support for further promotion of tourism in this region.
The main purpose of holding the festival in September is to lengthen the tourist season in Ladakh
and the result is already witnessing.
During the fifteen days festival, typical and vivid traditional culture shows like mask dances, Thangka display, archery competition, River rafting, double humped camel riding, horse polo etc will be displayed not only at the Capital Leh but also at the Block level to boost tourism and to educate the future generation about the unique culture and tradition for which Ladakh
is known for.
The Minister was addressing at a mammoth gathering at Leh Pologround after inaugurating the forth night long Ladakh festival today.

Mentioning the significant role of Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora in bringing Rs: 54 crore tourism related projects to Leh, which is a record number of project sanctioned to this region in a year, Rigzin Spalbar on behalf of the people of Ladakh extended thanks to the Minister for his whole hearted efforts.
