Nathan Cron, the president and owner of Bayside Mobile Medical Service has worked in the Allied Healthcare field for 10 years.
In 1997, just after finishing a bachealor's degree in psychology, he began working with developmentally delayed and physically disabled elderly individuals in group homecare.
After working in homecare for several years he
decided to go back to school to formalize the training and experience he'd gained.
In 2003 he
obtained formal training as a CNA (certified nurse assistant) and began working in convalescent care (skilled nursing).
A traumatic experience in 2004 prompted him to pursue training and licensure as an EMT (emergency medical technician).
In addition, he
obtained training and licensure as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician and medical assistant.
While continuing to work in convalescent care, Nathan began assisting in the instruction and skills training of EMT students and was the special topics instructor on geriatric care.
With encouragement from a few close friends and the support of his professional peers Nathan decided to pursue a degree in nursing.
While continuing to work toward entrance into a nursing program he has been employed by the University of California San Francisco, Department of Laboratory Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital.
also maintains employment with Hunter Laboratories, the largest privately owned and operated reference lab in Northern California.
Recognizing that there is a need for mobile laboratory services for homecare and hospice care patients as well as others in assisted living facilities and individuals with mobility limitations, Nathan started Bayside Mobile Medical Service.
