APPI President Narzalina Z Lim provides insight on Palawan Tourism during the Palawan Investment Forum
September 09 2015 | Category: APPI Updates
APPI President and former tourism secretary Narzalina Z Lim spoke as one of the presentors during the Palawan Investment Forum held at the Intercontinental Hotel Makati on 9 September 2015. Attended by Palawan's local leaders, leading finance agencies, development agency representatives, and local and foreign investors and stakeholders, the gathering aimed at providing awareness of the plans and pipeline developments in the sectors of agribusiness, tourism, and energy in the light of attracting investment interest into the province in the years coming forward.
Ms Lim led the session on tourism by providing an overview of tourism demand and supply in Palawan in terms of visitor arrival trends and statistics, as well as the province's existing tourism infrastructure capacity constraints and future developments in access and connectivity, product development, and tourist accommodation facilities. Among those identified as primary tourism investment areas are: (a) marine tourism; (b) health and wellness; (c) themed attractions focused on ecotourism, agri-tourism, and adventure tourism; and (d) mid to top tier resort-hotel accommodations.
Ms Lim represented the USAID advisory group involved in the implementation of the tourism component of the Enhancing Philippine Competitiveness (COMPETE) project.
