"It's terrific because 90 percent of everything we raise goes into research," said Nancy Wertz, of Baton Rouge the state director of development for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
"I truly believe that if we can keep up the funding, we will have a cure soon.Every dollar counts.We are very close to a cure now, but research is very expensive."
One in every 31 people is a carrier of the disease, Wertz
said.Many do not even know it.Both parents must carry the disease in order to pass it on to their children.
