Nurses Make Magick at Salem Conference 2004!
Review by Nancy Trogdon
...Bill and Nancy led the casting of the circle and the meeting was held in scared space.
The energy raised set the stage for an amazingly dynamic and productive day. Nancy
gave the keynote address where she
thoughts for the realization of our Mission Statement focusing on a vision of PAN
as a healing and supportive resource for Pagan nurses
and caregivers everywhere.She
related the progression of PAN
from thought, intent to manifestation; and, her
delight at learning she
was not alone and watching her
dream become shared by so many others, giving it strength, shape and direction. An outline of PAN's accomplishments so far: there was an active internet e-group, a Mission Statement, By-laws
, a scholarship fund, a newsletter, and multiple levels of membership and our first conference! She thanked each member of PAN present in person or in spirit for all they had done to contribute to this distinctive magical creation.
The following topics were touched on in her
The development of a variety of educational offerings for nurses, to include CEUs, and for members of the community at large; these would be related to both health and spirituality as her
view was that they are intrinsically linked to our optimal well-being.
Izzy is still working on the incorporation, and when that is completed, Ann
will do the tax exempt paperwork.
Scholarship guidelines were discussed, and a draft will be presented by Ron to the list by 6/30/04.
will contact Derek to see where he
is at with these projects.
Fund raiser ideas: charge more for membership, but add value to the membership... for example, add certificates, membership cards, and logo pins to the package. We want to develop CEUs for nurses too, and perhaps add the opportunity to obtain FREE CEUs to the membership package as well.As a side note, we discussed offering CEUs at all future PAN conferences, too.Ron and Ann (and anyone else with the desire!!!) will research the possibilities.
gave an enlightening and thought provoking workshop on getting in touch with and developing our psychic abilities for personal and professional growth. Then she
treated us to an interactive activity that opened the psychic senses of many, even those who had never been aware of their empathic abilities. She is a talented and giving teacher who we hope will offer many more workshops over the years to come.
