Nancy Haskin, VP of Membership Services and Events, will be leaving HBA on August 9.
Nancy has accepted a position as head of the Custom Homes Division for Pahlisch Homes.
Prior to coming to HBA, Nancy was a custom home builder and designer for almost twenty years, so this new position gives her a great opportunity to apply these skills again within a growing company.
Nancy has been a key member and huge part of the HBA team and has done an absolutely outstanding job during her four and a half years with us.
came on at the end of 2008 during the most difficult time in our recent history.
After reviewing several candidates, Nancy
was the clear choice to take on what I knew would be a tough position.
To say we've been lucky to have her
has been an understatement.
has handled her
job with poise, professionalism, grace, tenacity and a good sense of humor.
builder and industry experience has helped her
to authentically relate to our members, partners and vendors.
has helped us grow our membership and sponsorship levels to their strongest in several years.
management and customer service experience and applied it well to HBA's
programs, services and the way we engage with people in general.
As much as she
job and loves working with our staff and members, she
also has always had a passion for custom home building.
and I have had open conversations over the last year or two about the possibility of her
going back into it at some point.
Unfortunately for us, that time has come.
I am very appreciative of the two months' time she
is giving HBA
, and that Pahlisch Homes
is extending to her
, so that she
can help ensure key responsibilities and relationships are handled well, the NW Natural Street of Dreams gets underway, and to hopefully give us time to find a replacement and have some transition opportunities.
I have already reviewed the position and responsibilities with Nancy
, updated a job description, talked with staff and am beginning the candidate identification and selection process.
My goal is to get a new person in place before Nancy leaves.
leaves big shoes to fill, I am confident that we will find someone who can pick up where she
is leaving off, especially since she
is leaving us stronger and with more opportunities ahead.
The one silver lining is that Nancy's new position will keep her
close to HBA
and close to the Street of Dreams this year.
Best wishes to Nancy
new job, and I hope all of you who have gotten to know her
get a chance to congratulate her
And now that she has gotten HBA into her blood, who knows - maybe we have another future Membership Chair, SOD Chair, Board member or Officer in our ranks…
