Nancy Jo Haselbacher was born in New York City and received her M.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her exhibition venues include The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Temple University in Rome, The Craft and Folk Art Museum, The Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, CT, Track 16 at Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, CA, and The Museum of Urban Art and Culture in Boston.
Haselbacher's work examines the ephemeral traces of inhabitation in physical spaces. She explores issues of mystery, movement, and presence within the body and the landscape through forms of printmaking and photography. She lives and works in Los Angeles, where she is an Associate Professor at Otis College of Art and Design.

Our first speaker this afternoon is Nancy Jo Haselbacher who will take us much deeper into some of the points I have just mentioned.In 2004 Nancy received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.Prior to this she taught at the Art Institute of Boston where she was an associate professor and director of Academic Computing for ten years.She has also taught at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, here in Boston, and is currently a senior lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.At her Los Angeles studio, Indelible Press, she offers workshops on printmaking and digital media as well as continuing with her own practice as an artist.Today, Nancy will be presenting her own work, which explores the nuances of the physical imprint, the traces we leave behind, and how the unseen can be recorded.She reveals mystery, movement and presence within the body and the land through her use of printmaking and photography.

ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS is a juried exhibition highlighting work from artists in printmaking and bookmaking mediums, including lithography, etching, relief, serigraphy, experimental photo processes, letterpress and book arts. Guest juror Nancy Haselbacher is an artist, educator and curator whose practice involves the traces of inhabitation in a physical space. Haselbacher is an Associate Professor at Otis College of Art and Design and teaches in the Communication Arts department. She lives and works at her studio Indelible Press in Los Angeles.
