Judge Nancy Bills
Judge Nancy Bills was elected to the State Court Bench July 2004.
began serving in that capacity on January 1, 2005 and is serving her
Judge Bills graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Georgia and Cum Laude from the University of Georgia's School of Law.
After graduating from law school in 1989, she began her legal career in Rockdale County as an Assistant District Attorney.
In 1996, she became the Chief Assistant District Attorney and served in that position until 1998.
She worked in the Rockdale County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney for over 10 years and for all three District Attorneys.
In 1999, Judge Bills
went into private practice with Walker & Waldrop, P.C.
, and handled primarily criminal defense and domestic cases until she
was elected to the State Court bench.
In addition to her
duties on the State Court bench, she
presides over the Rockdale County DUI Supervised Treatment Program, which she
began in 2007.
Since 2006 she
has chaired the Rockdale County Task Force
Against Family Violence.
has been honored with the following awards: 2010 Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service, 2011 Georgia Commission On Family Violence Task Force
Member of the Year, and the 2012 Rotary District 6910 Guardian of Ethics Award.
