Katumbi told the club's website of his wish for a bright future for the duo in the French League after the players visited the Katanga governor in Lubumbashi to bid farewell to the former African club champions. "When players show their willingness to go to Europe, a club contacts us as regulations require and we negotiate. We never hinder their departure. Here is further proof. "And providing advice to both Chipolopolo players, I'm wishing them a bright future in the French championship," Katumbi, who is the club owner, said.

20.02.2006 Moses Katumbi, TP Mazembe and Congolese supporters will always remember you and think of you friendly
On pouvait y lire: Moses Katumbi, TP Mazembe and Congolese supporters will always remember you and think of you friendly.

Katanga province governor Moses Katumbi has assured truckers from within the SADC region that truck drivers going into the DRC will be protected like any other citizens. The unfortunate incident in which a Zambian truck driver hit two people who died and then a mob descended on him and set him and the truck ablaze should not be used by people with criminal intents to derail the resumption of flow of traffic into and from the DRC. The sporadic harassment of DRC traders must stop to avoid causing further problems. There are many Zambians living in the DRC and attacking DRC nationals here at home exposes fellow Zambians in the DRC to similar attacks. Likewise, Congolese traders should stop harassing Zambians because the two need to live in harmony. So far, Mr Katumbi has assured truck drivers of safety and already traffic has started flowing to and from the DRC. We strongly condemn people who attacked Congolese nationals at Soweto market as some form of retribution for the Zambian driver who was burnt alive. On Saturday, Mr Katumbi assured SADC motorists of security while on Sunday, Katanga Province Minister of Transport and Communications Kahozhi Nzombo reiterated the assurance of safety.
TRADE between Zambia and the Democratic ...

TRADE between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has increased in the last six years from less than US$50 million to over $1 billion, Katanga Province Governor Moses Katumbi has said.
...
Mr Katumbi, who called for enhanced trade between the two countries, said there was more to be done to increase trade between Zambia and DRC. He invited more Zambian companies to consider exploring business opportunities in DRC. "More businesses are welcome in Congo and more Congolese are free to do business in Zambia," he said. He said progress to connect the two countries from Lubumbashi through Luapula Province with a tarred road had reached an advanced stage with a more than 100 kilometre-stretch worked on so far. He said the DRC government was also working on revamping the rail line to reduce haulage on the road and also minimise congestion and damage to the road infrastructure. Meanwhile, Mr Katumbi said he would not re-contest his position as governor but would retire from active politics to concentrate on his business and football team, Tout Puissant (TP) Mazembe.
