position as assistant superintendent involves oversight and coordination of various programs interfacing with more than 500 churches affiliated with this organization.With the portfolio of District Missions Director he
implements the promotion and correlation of the worldwide ministries of 140 missionaries working both overseas and with American ethnic and cultural minorities.Reverend Ivey,s office requires that he participate with and serve on various boards related to benevolent and missionary activities.
Presently these include Dallas/Fort Worth Metro Ministries, Teen Challenge, chairman of Pleasant Hills Children's Home
, American Indian College
, and chairman of the North Texas College Ministries/Chi Alpha Board
Additional portfolio includes responsibilities in "New Church Planting," or planning and establishing churches in areas of the district not presently or adequately served by a local congregation.
A native Texan, Reverend Ivey
was born and grew up in Grapeland.He
is married to the former Margaret Webb of Dallas, and they have three children.Reverend Ivey
attended GraysonCollegeand Southwestern Assemblies of God University
(Waxahachie, Texas) and has pastored in Grapeland, Chicago, Denisonand Longviewuntil being elected to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent.Prior to his election as assistant superintendent, he served the North Texas District Council in the capacities of sectional, executive, and general presbyter.
