Dr.Monzer Kahf: Dr. Monzer Kahf has more than thirty years experience in Islamic finance, banking and economics. He is one of the principal pioneers of structuring Islamic financial products, currently a Consultant, Trainer, Lecturer. He served as a Professor of Islamic Economics and Banking in the graduate program of Islamic economics and banking, Yarmouk University, Jordan, a Senior Research Economist, for fifteen years, and Head of the Research Division at the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He provides expert opinions to courts and on the internet. His experience also includes directing scores of training seminars on Islamic finance and banking, presenting more than 75 papers in conference and seminars and organizing scores of courses, conferences and seminars on the same in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and South and South East Asia. Prof. Kahf is continuously active in writing, with more than 27 books and more than 60 articles published in professional journals. He has a Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Utah (1975), a B A in Business and a strong training in Islamic Law (Shari'ah). He is the Laureate of IDB Prize in Islamic Economics, 2000.

Dr. Monzer Kahf holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Utah. He is Professor of Islamic economics at various universities in Jordan and Qatar and a lecturer at many others. For over a decade, he has served as Research Economist at the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr Monzer Kahf has written more than 25 books in English and Arabic, on Islamic banking and finance, Islamic economics, Zakah and Awqaf, including some which have become the standard reference manuals in the field. Having written over 27 books and booklets in English and Arabic, and over 80 papers, Dr. Monzer Kahf has focused on Islamic finance and economics for over 33 years.
In addition, Dr. Kahf has been both working and training people in the field. His served as Professor of Islamic economics and banking at the graduate program in Islamic Economics at the Yarmouk University, Jordan, 2004-2005 and as a senior research economist at the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank from 1985 - 1999. Currently, Dr. Kahf has his own consultancy and training business that provides consultation, training, auditing and instruction in the field of Islamic finance, banking and economics.
Dr. Kahf has organized and conducted many training courses at IDB, IRTI, commercial Islamic banks, and other banking institutions in several countries in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, West Africa, Europe and North America. He has also trained people in Islamic Economics, Zakah and Awqaf. He has been an invited lecturer/speaker on Islamic banking, finance and economics by several national and international training and teaching institutions and conferences in several countries. He has also been a collaborating expert at the Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and member of several of its technical and methodological committees on Shari'ah and economics.
Dr. Kahf was awarded the IDB Prize for Islamic Economics, 2001 and the President of Syria Award for best University Graduating Student, July 1962. Dr. Kahf is fluent in English, Arabic and knows French
