As the world turns against Israel, ..., 26 Oct 2015 [cached]
As the world turns against Israel, Chosen People Ministries President Mitch Glaser is calling on Christians to speak out against the eruption of violence, efforts to weaken the nation's sovereignty and other disturbing developments in the "apple of His eye."
Glaser's request comes amid a "wave of terror" in Israel that has left more than 110 people wounded and 10 killed, according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The recent series of attacks against Israelis is the "direct result of incitement by radical Islamist and terrorist elements, calling on Palestinian youth to murder Jews," Israeli officials say.
"We need to stand up and say it's immoral for people to murder and maim innocent individuals," Glaser says. "What rationale can anybody have for killing a toddler? We need to raise our voices, affirm what we believe about Israel and ask our government to declare that the current violence is wrong and should be stopped."
In an effort to stop the violence, Glaser is asking believers to sign a petition to urge U.S. Secretary of State Kerry to help put a stop to the violence against Israelis. The petition, available at, urges Kerry to demand that the Palestinian Authority do everything in its power to "stop these random acts of personal terrorism against Israeli citizens. It also asks the U.S. government to put a stop to the hundreds of millions of dollars in aid that is currently being sent to the Palestinian Authority.
"People are talking about this as the beginning of the Third Intifada," Glaser says.
This convergence in events, Glaser says, could be signs of the beginning of fulfillment of Zechariah 12:3, a biblical passage that foretells how all nations will turn against Israel in the last days: "And it will be on that day that I will set Jerusalem as a weighty stone to all the peoples. All who carry it will surely gash themselves, and all the nations of the land will be gathered against it."
Zechariah 12:9 indicates Jesus Christ will return at some point to "save His people and destroy the enemies of Israel," Glaser says.
"We understand that has not yet been fulfilled, but it will be fulfilled and probably today we are beginning to see the fulfillment," Glaser says.

Dr. Mitch Glaser, President of Chosen People Ministries, and co-recipient of Christianity Today magazine's 2009 Award of Merit in Apologetics and Evangelism, was recently interview by Point of View. Dr. Glaser and Dr. Bock co-edited The People, The Land and The Future of Israel, which contains content and material from a conference put together in 2013.
This book contains the messages from this dynamic historic event from great speakers like Joel C. Rosenberg, Dr. Mitch Glaser, Dr. Darrell Bock and Dr. Michael Brown.
Dr. Glaser has taught at leading evangelical schools such as Biola University and the Talbot School of Theology, where he is an adjunct professor, and helped to initiate the Charles Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies - a program designed to train leaders for Jewish ministries. In addition, he has taught classes at Fuller Theological Seminary, Columbia International University and Moody Bible Institute.
On Point of View, Dr. Glaser discussed The People, the Land and the Future of Israel, edited by Darrell Bock and Mitch Glaser, which is a book that is theologically and historically significant. God has granted to that work the gifts of Mitch Glaser as Director. His bold initiatives for the Gospel of Jesus Christ have been evident in the successful "Isaiah 53" Campaign in New York City, Los Angles, and now in Israel.
I encourage you to receive Mitch and/or the ministry in any and every way you can, for these must be the days of the Jewish harvest that the Apostle Paul spoke of in Romans 9-11. It is too late to argue academically if the Lord will not restore Israel back in her land before he returns a second time. What shall we say about the 6 million Jewish people now back in the land of Israel already? This is approaching one half of the total Jewish population. Surely that is a sign for all of God's people to wake up and smell the coffee, for our Lord will soon climax history by fulfilling his promise that he gave to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David.
I have known CPM president, Mitch Glaser, for many years. He continues to lead CPM with a deep commitment to, and love for the Lord Jesus, and for all the children of Abraham. His compassion and patience have proven themselves time and again. I have seen his love in action under trying circumstances - he is bold, but gentle.
His courage in sharing his faith in the Lord Jesus is eclipsed only by his love for his Savior. Mitch inspires his board of directors and the staff at CPM with a living example of what it means to be a servant of Christ. If you are interested in broadening the scope of your vision for the Jewish people, you cannot do better than to invest your time and resources in supporting Chosen People Ministries and their president, Dr. Mitch Glaser.
Over the past three years I have worked closely with Chosen People and its president, Dr. Mitch Glaser, on several projects. I have been particularly impressed with the integrity of Mitch and his staff. They are fueled by a genuine love for the Jewish people. This passion drives the ministry and underlies every decision that is made.
I have also been impressed by Chosen People's commitment to excellence and to doing the work of the ministry in a way that honors our Lord and Savior. They care about sound biblical interpretation, as well as theological accuracy and depth. Recently Mitch brought together a group of evangelical scholars for two timely conferences, one focusing on the gospel message of Isaiah 53 and the other on the future of the Jewish people. Both conferences yielded quality books that will help those engaged in Jewish evangelism. The most recent volume. entitled The People, the Land, and the Future of Israel, is particularly important at a time when more and more evangelicals are advocating so-called "replacement theology" and rejecting the dispensational tradition that Dallas Theological Seminary has taught and proclaimed over the past 90 years.
We are living in momentous, dangerous times. Chosen People Ministries is facing the challenge, right out there on the frontlines. You can trust Mitch and his team.
