Mina Goodman, M.Ed., M.S., CCC-SLP Mina Goodman has been a faculty member in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology at Loyola University Maryland since 1985. Since that time, she has served as a clinical supervisor, supervising clinical interns in their first year of a 2 year Masters Degree program. Goodman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Goucher College and her M.Ed. in Special Education and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-language Hearing Association. Along with Dr. Libby Kumin and Cheryl Councill, Goodman has, for the past 30 years, provided clinical intervention and support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families, developing techniques that have been used both in their clinic and across a variety of clinical and educational settings and researching and documenting successful methodology. Goodman says it has been a privilege to observe the communication growth of these individuals across their life span, documenting strengths and challenges along the way. As a member of the Adults with Down Syndrome Task Force, she looks forward to providing practical suggestions based upon real world experience with these clients and their families and to join with the other committee members in developing ideas that will better serve this population.
