Dr. Milton Erman
has had a long and distinguished career in the fields of sleep disorders and Psychiatry as a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Dr. Erman has been an invited speaker at institutions and professional society meetings in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean and has been a principal Investigator in over 200 research studies.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Columbia College and his medical degree from New York University, both in New York City, Dr. Erman completed residency training in Psychiatry and a fellowship in Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
In 1982, Dr. Erman
became one of the first 70 physicians to become Board-Certified in sleep disorders medicine in the United States.
is the author of more than 200 publications-dealing primarily with sleep disorders medicine and with interactions between psychiatric illness and sleep.
These publications have appeared in reputable journals such as American Journal of Psychiatry

Dr. Erman has served on the board of directors of the California Sleep Society, the National Sleep Foundation and the American Sleep Disorders Association, and was secretary-treasurer and national chairman of the Accreditation Committee for the American Sleep Disorders Association.
He is the president-elect of the California Sleep Society.
Dr. Erman has an active practice in San Diego where he sees and manages sleep medicine patients.
