Sun West Bank Senior Vice President of Business Development and Community Relations, Mike Murdock, says that his first term on the board has already proved to be a joy and an honor.
"The appointment so far has been a wonderful experience," Murdock says. "I'm grateful that I can add my insight as a banking professional, and give the board that perspective, absolutely. Sun West Bank has a voice on the board, and I'm honored to fill that role."
Murdock says that his primary role within the RSCVA is to help and oversee the CFO's office, utilizing his financial background to advise on monetary decisions that could affect the future of the organization. While Murdock admits that being the first executive from Sun West Bank to be voted onto the board is a challenge, Sun West supported his nomination from the city, and was gratified to learn of his appointment.
During his remaining time on the board of directors, Murdock says he is looking forward to improving the decision-making capability of the RSCVA. He added that, having the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce and New Bankers' Association nominate him to the city for appointment to the RSCVA is one more proof of Sun West's commitment to the overall well being of the communities they serve.
