Mike Lozano believes in explanations when it comes to weather.
"Anyone can tell you what's happened," he said."It takes that extra touch to let you know why it happened.I don't want any of my viewers to sit by the water cooler the day after my forecast and say to their co-workers, ‘I didn't know that!"'
A native of San Antonio, Mike attended Briscoe Elementary, St. Henry's Academy, Central Catholic High School, San Antonio College and completed his education at Western Illinois University.
Additionally, he obtained specialized education in weather studies at University of Texas, Texas A&M and Oregon State universities.
Mike holds the American Meteorological Society's Television Seal of Approval.
Mike is a nationally-recognized lightning safety and protection expert and currently sits on the advisory board of the National Lightning Safety Institute.

Here's a few words from Mike's Notes :
One day , I was walking through the local Wal-Mart storein Ankeny , Iowa when I happened to notice a small area that proudly proclaimeditself , Computer Doctor - this , I had to see.Talking to the very professionalyoung man in the store , I explained my dilemma. He said , 'why don't you select what you need from thissheet , and let us bid on building you a computer?' . . . Four days later , my computer had been assembled in Aberdeen , South Dakota ; had been deliveredto the store , ready to use. After using it for everything I do , such assurfing the Web , designing electronic devices and writing Mike's Notes- my conclusion is WOW!!!!.
