Michael Lainoff, CEO
Michael Lainoff began service as the State Director of the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network on September 1, 2008.
Previously he resided in Flagstaff Arizona for thirteen years, and most recently served as the Founding Director of the Arizona Rural Policy Institute at The W. A. Franke College of Business, Northern Arizona University.
In this capacity, he
provided leadership for the Institute's applied research, policy analysis, and technical assistance programs.
Prior to this engagement, he served in Flagstaff as Coconino Community College's (CCC) Dean of Workforce Development & Extended Learning, and as CCC's Small Business Development Center Director and Dean of Continuing Education.
Before his arrival in Arizona, he served as the SBDC Director at Oregon Coast Community College, and Training Specialist, Southwestern Oregon Community College.

SBDC career, Michael
had the opportunity to facilitate three Association of Small Business Development Center
(ASBDC) conference workshops: "Weaving the SBDC into the Fabric of Your Community," (initially at Snowbird UT and an encore at Orlando FL) and "Small Business Management-Cohort-Based Training for High Impacts" (San Diego).
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Creative Writing) from the University of Missouri, and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction (Instructional Technology) from the University of Oregon.
He is an avid backcountry hiker, and spends a week each year on the more obscure trails in the Grand Canyon.
