Police comment on body found near Fox River dam: Raw Video: Outagamie County Sheriff's Department Captain Mike Jobe on the investigation into 'suspicious' circumstances that led to the discovery of body in the Fox River in the Town of Buchanan on Friday July 22, 2011.
"We're treating it as a suspicious death at this time," said Capt. Mike Jobe.
"We're not going to release anything at this time about her identity," Jobe said.
Jobe indicated the woman's death appeared to have been "very recent," but he wouldn't speculate whether she drowned or was the victim of foul play.
"We don't know that yet," he said. "That's how early this investigation is."
Jobe said despite the suspicious nature of the woman's death, there is no reason to believe the public is in any danger. He added that he would keep the community updated as information became available.
"Obviously, if there are any significant developments that I can release, I'll do that," he said.
