For the past 25 years Mike Gibson
has been one of the top sprint coaches in the Northeast.
is known for his
meticulous attention to detail in setting up each athletes training program and is sought out for his
knowledge of running mechanics and cleaning up flaws in form and technique.
coached at Stony Brook University
(1997-1999) before moving on to Division II Powerhouse NYIT (2000-2006).
He produced 15 All-Americans, the 2001 NCAA 55m High Hurdle champion and coached Tech to an NCAA Indoor runner-up finish (2001) before becoming an Independent Professional speed coach in 2007.
has shown his
mastery in teaching the mechanics of running working with World Ranked sprinters, Olympic sprinters, National team members (Jamaica, Nigeria, US), Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Champions, NCAA All-Americans, JUCO All-Americans, NFL Football players, Professional, Elite, Collegiate, High School and Youth athletes.
Along with training sprinters he
has worked with athletes in other sports such as Baseball, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer and Basketball.
Gibson attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he ran the sprint hurdles and graduated with a degree in Social Work.
Mike is a USATF Level II Instructor in sprints and hurdles.
He has been instructing at Performance Factory since 2012 and serves as the Head of Speed Development.
