...Through his own private Speed Enhancement organization, "Split Second Speed", Coach Gibson has established programs for and worked personally with many athletes of all sports who are endeavoring to improve speed, quickness, and coordinated body movement.
...Until retiring in Spring, 2004, Coach Gibson also coached at New York Institute of Technology, one of the NCAA's premier Division II T&F programs.His
responsibilities at NYIT
included working with all Sprints Events Athletes.In particular, while on the NYIT staff, Coach Gibson has worked with many of the country of Jamaica's Olympic hopeful athletes who attend the college.
In fact, between the years of 1980-2005, NYIT
featured a Jamacian Olympic athlete every year!NYIT's success was in large measure directly attributable to Coach Gibson's knowledge and teaching skill.While at NYIT, in 2001, Coach Gibson coached the NCAA Division II High Hurdles National Champion.
In 1999, 2001 & 2002, he
coached the NCAA Indoor & Outdoor 400 Meters Sprint Champion.The '99 Champion, Paston Coke of Jamaica, also ranked #12 in the world that year! At SPEED CAMP, Coach Gibson will be focus on helping campers to understand the need for flexibility, quickness, looseness in terms of hip rotation, "core" strength development AND working on drills to improve accelerate such development on a year-round basis.
