Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Cunningham at 9:00 a.m.
is preparing a manual full of contacts to aid in the preparation of next year's plant sale.
Next year a Gardening Program with a Master Gardener should be planned in conjunction with the Plant Fair.
would like ideas from the members of the board for programs.
Book Signings could be an interesting addition to programs.
Appreciation Dinner - Mike C.
distributed menus for the Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, December 6th 6:00pm, at Ozzie's Crab house.
Significant others and spouses are invited.
It is requested that everyone RSVP and the preferences for dinner be given to Mike C.

8. PROPOSAL FROM MIKE CUNNINGHAMMrs. Dwyer stated that the Board had received a copy of the proposal from Mike Cunningham, Chairman of the South Mainland Library Advisory Board.

...Mike Cunningham, South Mainland Library Advisory Board presented the Board with a letter and a proposal.He
suggested the Board accept the proposal, table it for discussion at the October meeting.
MOTION by Carol Hurst, seconded by Fritz Kawohl to accept the proposal from Mr. Cunningham
and table the item until the next Board meeting to allow all Board members to be able to review the request.

Correspondence: NoneChairman's Report: Mike C. - The Sheriff assures us that he appreciates our interest in that security program and he will assist us in any way possible with that endeavor.
Contact remains with the VA.Mike
has an appointment today to cover plans for books and coverage in the four hospitals.
The youth increase is still unfunded.Mike C. had meetings with the Sheriff, the County Manager and the Commissioners.
They have given Mike C. license to come up with alternatives to cover monitoring of the room when children are present.When it has been worked out how to put the alternatives into place, Mike will return to the Sheriff, County Manager and Commissioners and present it to them.Mike C.
has priced the entire security system.He
feels if we can't get $18,000, per library for additional personnel, we should be able to come in under that by buying the equipment as an alternative.
On the International Plastic Model Society

has been in touch with a member of the group and they will probably be in here after the first of the year to utilize our cases to display their models (planes, trains etc).The Florida Today article on Space Coast Hobbies of Palm Bay has resulted in the display cases being filled for October with model trains.They have also agreed to arrange a date to give a lecture and video presentation of model train hobbying. of the Library Report from the last meeting mentioned a new shed.For information purposes, Mike C.
can get a custom 8X10 shed to meet the specifications for $1600.00 (sixteen hundred dollars) delivered and set up.It will have a 45" front door and a 15 or 20 year guarantee.Mike
suggests getting a volunteer, such as Hearndon, to donate concrete.
is working with the Sheriff's Dept. and Space Coast Government T.V. to speed up the workshop about "Safety" and get it onto DVD.
was going through some Library Services Agenda Reports and came across inactive library records.He
wanted to share how he
was pleasantly surprised, as he
is with many things about this library, the fact that according to a report from December 2005, $119,883.50 in delinquent fines were not paid.The figures went from $24,000 down to $771.00.We had a total of 70 out of 5855 delinquencies.This to Mike C.

collecting in this library.
There was discussion about the new shed and now Mike C.
has come up with a better price which will be addressed at the next Friends meeting.
