Sunset Hills Vineyard Team
Mike McKew, Tasting Room Manager Born and raised in Leesburg, Virginia, Mike has been in the service industry since 2011. He began his career at Arlington's Mad Rose Tavern, a club known for their stellar beer selection. Transitioning to a more wine focused experience, Mike returned to Loudoun County and began working at Travinia Restaurant. With his interest in wine piqued, he later became a server/bartender at Salamander Resort, a position which greatly expanded his interest and knowledge of wine. Through personalized service and anticipation of customer needs, Mike strives to provide his customers with the best possible winery experience in Virginia…and beyond! He believes that we not only produce and sell amazing wines, but that we should create an atmosphere and customer service experience that is equally extraordinary through our knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate tasting room team.

Jack Roush Jr. Joins New Race Team | Miscellaneous Blog & Discussion at Mustang & Fords Magazine
That fresh start will see Roush partner with Mike Canney to create a new, two-car team called Horsepower Ranch.
Both drivers competed for Rehagen Racing last season, and both felt that the timing was right to grow their programs by partnering and making the best use of their combined resources. “I’m excited to be working with Mike on the new team,†said Roush. “He’s a very smart guy and very serious about racing. With the resources we are putting in place, I believe that both our cars will be running up at the front of the field next year.†Officially owned by Canney, Horsepower Ranch will be based in Mooresville, N.C., and be in a better position to utilize the many resources available around the Piedmont region to prepare the cars for competition. As before, the team will run Ford Mustangs in GS division of the KONI Sports Car Challenge. Canney was optimistic about the partnership. “I am excited about racing with Jack Roush Jr. in the 2009 Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge, under the Horsepower Ranch team name. Canney will remain in No. 60 Sunset Hills Vineyard Mustang like last year, and will be joined by Matt Plumb as his co-driver. Mike Canney has shown he is able to be a winning driver and owner as witnessed by his accomplishments last season (capturing the season-finale at Virginia International Raceway), but now to have the resources of ROUSH available to our team really is a dream combination.â€
Horsepower Ranch - Racing Team
To win at racing requires a highly motivated and equipped team. We have sought out the best drivers, crew chief and team that we could find, and are very pleased to be working with these individuals for the 2009 season. Mike Canney is the team owner and driver in the #60 Sunset Hills Vineyard Mustang. He will share driving with Matt Plumb. Mike started racing in 2002, and just completed his first full Koni Challenge season driving with Hugh Plumb, with one win, two podiums and six top tens. Mike is married to wife Diane, and they enjoy operating Sunset Hills Vineyard, making award winning wines from Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Mike and Hugh drove together in 2008, with one win, two podiums and six top tens. Driving with Mike in the #60 Sunset Hills Vineyard Mustang, Matt Plumb joins Horsepower Ranch in 2009.
