Mike Bunney | Senior Vice President, Support Services

Mike Bunney joined NORDAM in 2011 as senior vice president, support services, with responsibility for supply chain, information technology and human resources.
Bunney has more than 34 years of wide-ranging aerospace background, spanning negotiation of numerous, multimillion-dollar domestic and international contracts; implementation of new software platforms tailored to industry-specific applications; identification and development of employee strengths to foster professional growth; and much more.
He launched his aviation career as a mechanic with McDonnell Douglas, remaining with the company after it was acquired by Boeing. During his lengthy tenure there, Bunney served as general manager of a 1.9-million-square-foot rocket production facility in Decatur, Ala.; as chief of program management and site director for the company's support of various military contracts in Oklahoma City, Okla.; and as director of 787 global logistics, based at Boeing's Everett, Washington facility, where he was responsible for development of the Boeing Dreamlifter, one of the largest aircraft ever assembled and certified for use.
Immediately prior to his current position, Bunney was chief economic development officer for the City of Tulsa, where he served on the Mayor's staff and the Boards of the Tulsa Airport Authority, Tulsa Industrial Authority, Tulsa Public Facilities Authority, and the Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority.
He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Okla.

Mike Bunney, who is senior vice president of support services with NORDAM, once told me that he saw manufacturers in other communities work together better. At one time he was an executive at Boeing, and he said that some communities had one entry point for companies like his to find solutions - and that contact then communicated with the other manufacturers.

I want that for Tulsa! I'm not competing with other Tulsa manufacturers - I want to partner with them. Working together, we can provide a manufacturing network that could be very beneficial to large companies. People like Mike Bunney, Mary Smith, who is executive director of the Oklahoma Aerospace & Defense Alliance, and others can help us make that happen.
