With the expected re-opening of SentryWorld taking place in August, organizers of United Way of Portage County’s Run
, Unite Duathlon
made a decision to move the event to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

“The first run course will take people through the beautiful UWSP campus, said Duathlon Race Director Michelle Peariso
. “It’s a great opportunity to give people a new experience.
Peariso said people hoping to get in on the early-bird discount for the fifth annual Run, Bike, Unite Duathlon
have through Saturday, Aug. 9, to take advantage of the $5 registration savings.
Fees through Aug. 9 are $35 for individual Duathlon participants, $20 per person for Duathlon relay teams, and $15 for children entering the Kids’ Duathlon.
The top three finishers in each age group or relay category will win five-inch silhouette trophies that include an individualized race plaque by class, age and team.
Peariso, who is also a United Way of Portage County Board member and president of Adventure 212 Fitness, said the Duathlon is a great event because it’s about staying fit and healthy. “Running and bicycling are perfect summertime activities.
Combining the two makes for a fun event like the Duathlon, she
Also taking place this year at UWSP
is the Kids’ Duathlon, which will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22.
