Michelle Peariso, owner of Adventure 212, said many members train for the Bock Run at the fitness center.
Peariso said having an event to train for gives motivation to stick with a training program. She said some members have personal trainers or participate in group training to get ready for the Bock Run.
"Having an event to look forward to gives them a goal," Peariso said. "Setting a goal is super important to get motivated, to come out to the gym."
Peariso recommended cross training with similar activities that achieve a similar heart rate, as well as building up to the mileage for beginners by combining running and walking at first.
