, 35, of Glen Alpine will collect donations on behalf of Midwives for Haiti during tonight's basketball game at Freedom High School
Midwives for Haiti needs tarps, bandages, over-the-counter medications, antibiotic ointments and similar items.
Duckworth, a labor and delivery nurse at Catawba Valley Medical Center, said that as soon as possible she will go to the island with Midwives for Haiti to provide medical care in and around Port Au Prince.
Midwives for Haiti teaches Haitians midwifery skills.
trip last summer Duckworth's group worked in Hicnhe's hospital and orphanage and saw about 150 patients over two days at a mobile clinics.
This trip is personal to Duckworth
