Judge Alley informed the board of several trips and meetings Michele
had attended as a representative of FPIC
gave the Treasurer's report in the absence of Treasurer.She
stated that the financial report had been filed with the Jeht foundation
.There is $10,000 in the budget for activities , $4,000 for individual communities to use, and $6,000 for advocacy related activities.
The Second Annual CIT Conference will be in Orlando next week, followed by The Florida Council
for Community Mental Health annual meeting . entitled Hope and Recovery.Some of FPIC
members will be presenting at both conferences. Michele
informed the group that there had been several donations to FPIC
, which will help with expenses not covered by the JEHT grant; St Lucie CIT , $1500, Brevard CIT , $2,000, FAADA , $1,000, and Florida Behavioral Council
, $1,000.Eli Lilly
has awarded a grant to FPIC
for $10,000, but it has not yet been received.It will be in next year's budget and will receive a matching grant from the JEHT Foundation
There was also discussion about using a Public Relations firm in Tallahassee to assist with development of our communication tools and some strategies and they may be able to help find other donors to support our activities and off,set some of their costs.Michele
emphasized that we need to change our literature and brochures and they can assist with this.
emphasized that we needed viable statistics in order to have creditability.
