At the age of 14, Michael Watkins
was introduced to the hospitality industry by means of a job cleaning up palm fronds around his
family's beach resort, learning young the importance of a good work ethic and attention to detail.In the years that followed, Michael
summers greeting guests, reserving rooms, selling merchandise at the resort's pro shop, washing dishes, busing tables and wielding a butcher's knife in the resort kitchen.Demonstrating his dedication to the success of The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, Michael was named Resident Manager of the resort in May 1982.He

As president of The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, Michael has administered renovations and additions at the resort in excess of $60 million, helping to revolutionize the property into a premier destination resort.Michael has been particularly active with the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Resort Committee, and he has served more than 15 separate non-profit organizations as their director.Michael
