practice is concentrated in the areas of international business and projects development, telecommunications, immigration, and other business\commercial transactions.Michael
represents and has represented clients in the United States and around the world on: international business development and strategy; foreign investment and finance; regulatory affairs\government relations; real estate, infrastructure, and other projects development (featuring project finance); telecom policy, regulation, and transactions; U.S. immigration; transactions in real estate (featuring restaurants and small business); licensing, distribution, and franchising; international sporting events; and other miscellaneous matters (e.g., capital markets transactions, REITs, asset securitization, restructuring, etc.). Michael was born in Pittsburgh, PA, received his B.A. from Muhlenberg College and his J.D. from Duquesne University in 1992.
During his law school studies, Michael
performed clerkships for the Honorable Joseph A. Del Sole (the Superior Court of Pennsylvania) and Honorable Alan N. Bloch (Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania).
...Michael also holds a Diploma in Telecommunications Management from the Singapore Telecommunications Academy and Temple University, and is presently pursuing research at Harvard University's Program on Information Resources Policy as an Affiliate Researcher. Michael spent a considerable part of his career living and traveling overseas, especially in Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, India, and Australia, where he held positions with a U.S. State Department of Commerce, as a Regional Manager with BT (British Telecommunications) Asia Pacific, and as legal counsel to a number of infrastructure, real estate, and other projects developers.
Examples of projects that Michael
has advised on include: power generation, telecom, oil & gas, cement manufacturing, waste\water treatment, airports, ports and harbors, other project financings, and hotels and resorts developments. Michael
has resided in the United States since in 1999, where he
has held affiliations with several large law firms, including Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP
