Michael Rosenblatt *Mike Rosenblattmarosenb@ucsd.eduI'm a student in the "Senior Sequence" of the Urban Studies and Planning major at the University of California San Diego.I'm interested in Urban Planning because it is a discipline that effects us all.If planning is done properly it has the potential to improve our quality of life.Conversly, if the principles of planning are neglected we all suffer the consequences of inequity, urban decay and sprawl. I'm specifically interested in the concepts of New Urbanism and smart growth. In my research I'm seeking to discover whether or not mixing land-uses effects the automobile dependence of a region.
