Michael W. Pajak, Executive Director, Friends of Maine's Mountains

"The support of this project with federal tax dollars highlights perfectly what the growing number of critics of industrial wind have have been saying all along," said FMM executive director Michael Pajak.
One has to ask," continued Pajak, "if industrial wind is the sound, economic and sustainable energy-producing investment that its proponents claim, why are the federal government and the American taxpayer needed to finance their venture? "These projects have been given the green light and fast-tracked through the permitting process so quickly that local residents, let alone the larger environmental community, have hardly had a chance to prepare a defense," said Pajak.

MPBN reports that Michael Pajak lost a job at the Department of Conservation because of his AMG postings under the name The Distributist.
Some AMGers doubt that one of their most beloved posters of yesteryear is actually the poor, innocent Michael Pajak. Says mediadog: Do we know for sure that Pajak wrote what Sharon accuses him of writing in AMG posts? I know Mike Pajak. I know Tipping. Pajak is a good guy, who may have made some stupid, ill-advised comments. Michael Pajak, who has not denied he is "The Distributist" on AMG despite direct questioning, is now working for "Friends of Maine's Mountains" as their Executive Director. But back to Michael Pajak. This is how his bio at the lobby group's website describes him: Michael Pajak, Executive Director - Pajak is the owner of imMEDIAcy, a public relations firm, and a partner of Trendology Research, a market research company that publishes hundreds of U.S. industry reports annually. He has worked in state government and the private sector, owned his own restaurant and gone commercial fishing. Pajak has brought his communications, research and advocacy skills to enterprises ranging from the Maine People's Alliance to the Republican National Committee, and served on the campaigns of Democrats, Republicans and Independents with equal zeal. First coming to Maine in the 1970s to climb Mt. Katahdin, Pajak lives in Woolwich. It is odd that Pajak leaves any mention of his work for liberal/Democrat groups off his linkedin page. Speaking of [Gubernatorial candidate Kevin] Scott, his erstwhile campaign manager, Michael Pajak, earned the I Have The Courage Of My Convictions As Long As I Don't Have To Use My Real Name Award. According to the blog asmainegoeslolz.com, Pajak has been posting anti-gay and anti-Muslim comments on the As Maine Goes Web site under the pseudonym "The Distributist" (sample: "Existing information could lead one to conclude that homosexual behavior is to genetics what islam [sic] is to religion"). Asked about his homophobia and religious intolerance, Pajak refused to answer, saying he was being questioned about a "fictional character." According to FEC filings, Michael Pajak's company ImMEDIAcy is a paid consultant to Dean Scontras' 2010 campaign, receiving, by my quick count, $4,250 in disbursements. Michael Pajak: Why are you asking me about a "fictional character?" Mike Tipping at Downeast.com writes here about my serious journalistic endeavor (over an hour searching on google!) regarding the identity of AsMaineGoes poster "The Distributist," and even called Michael Pajak, the alleged Distributist, to get his side of the story. Mr. Pajak went all C.I.A. and "pointedly refused to deny or to confirm that he had written the comments" and asked why he was being questioned about a "fictional character." Dude, when you write online using an pseudonym you are *not* creating a "fictional character. And let's be honest- anyone who wasn't "The Distributist" would absolutely deny he or she authored such disgusting things because, well, who would want that sort of allegation hanging out there? I'm actually surprised that Pajak didn't just deny it anyways. Maybe he was afraid of Scott Fish coming down on him for lying?
