Darien, Ill. (February 7, 2012)â€"Wight & Company, a leader in integrated architecture, engineering and construction solutions, announced today that Michael J. Lubbers, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to creative director.
Lubbers joined the firm in 2008 as senior designer and operates out of Wightâ€™s Chicago office.

Before joining Wight, Lubbers was a managing associate and senior designer at OKW Architects.
Earlier in his career, Lubbers served as a design architect for the Chicago Office of CUH2A, Inc., where he worked clients such as Comcast, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Pfizer, and the National Institutes of Health.
design career began in Michigan where he
worked on projects such as Herman Millerâ€™s â€œGreenhouseâ€ manufacturing facility and office, designed by William McDonough + Partners, and VerBurg & Associates Architects
In addition to being a LEED-accredited professional, Lubbers is a registered architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
He has been a member of Chicagoâ€™s Society of Contemporary Art and The Architecture and Design Society, and has participated in the Design Futures Council and The Chicago Architecture Club.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art from Calvin College and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
