Michael Lane has an extensive background in public policy, legislation, politics and campaigns.
Prior to joining NPH, he worked a decade for Self-Help Enterprises, the oldest and largest nonprofit developer of affordable self-help housing in the nation.
In this capacity, he
worked on predevelopment activities, government and media relations and local, state and federal housing policy, legislation, regulations and funding.
has significant experience working with financial institutions, foundations and other funders.
served as a regional whip on the successful 2002 Proposition 46 and 2006 Proposition 1C statewide housing bond campaigns.
Michael is currently Chair of the Board of Directors for the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County.
He served on the Advisory Committee for the 2014 California Affordable Housing Cost Study and on the Board of Directors of Housing California from 2008 to 2014.
Michael also currently serves on the Board of Governors for the California Housing Consortium.
Michael has worked in local government and held elective office as a school board member and city council member.
