serves a Jewish population of over 100,000.
In support of its mission to foster Jewish engagement and address the needs of the Jewish community, it helps fund a network of agencies that provide social services and educational programming to communities locally and internationally.

Michael Horowitz was appointed president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta in 2011.
Previously, he served as board chair of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, where he established the Israel and Overseas Committee.
In addition to his work at the Federation, Horowitz is the principal of a real estate investment and development company, and in 1990 he received the Construction Entrepreneur of the Year award.
He graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's of general studies in economics and political science, and holds a master's degree from the University of Chicago School of Business Administration.
