A leading Urban Designer and Planner, Michael
returned to Architectus
in July 2011 after 4 years secondment with the City of Sydney Council
He led the City Strategy and Design Division at the City of Sydney from 2007-2011, and was responsible for six business units in Council, including: City Plan Development, City Design, City Sustainability, City Transport, City Renewal, and City Strategy / Economic Development.
Prior to joining the City of Sydney
Michael was Urban Design and Planning Director at Architectus
has been the primary author of many urban design, master planning and strategic planning studies for private industry, local and state Government.
Significant projects that Michael
worked on while at the City of Sydney
included the Sustainable Sydney 2030 Strategy, the comprehensive Sydney City Plan 2011 (draft), Green Square Town Centre Review, Harold Park Rezoning, Goldfields House Street Block Planning Controls, Review at Circular Quay, and the George Street Sydney Transformation Plan.
Michael is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects.
He has a Master of City Planning and Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Michael has been Vice President of the NSW Division of PIA and Chairman of PIA's Environment and Policy Committee.
He is currently an Alternate member of the Central Sydney Planning Committee, member of the North Sydney Independent Planning Panel and a Member of the Waverley Independent Planning Panel.
