Dr. Michael J. Grasso Dr. Michael J. Grasso was appointed as the Medical Director for the Emergency Service at Cobb Veterinary Emergency and Referral Clinic in November of 2003. He is native to Dubois, PA. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA in 1995, where he graduated with honors with a double major in biology and chemistry and a minor in psychology. He is a member of Lambda Sigma National Honor Society as well as Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. His undergraduate thesis in the field of behavioral ecology entitled Badges of Status and Their Effects of Status Signaling in Dark-eyed Juncos was published in August, 1995 edition of The Condor . He graduated from veterinary medical school at The Ohio State University in 1999 with honors. He is a member of Phi Zeta National Veterinary Honor Society as well as Omega Tau Sigma Veterinary Fraternity. He completed an official rotating internal medicine, surgery, and emergency/critical care internship at The University of Minnesota in 2000. During this time he published an article entitled Portosystemic Shunts Can Be Congenital or Acquired. He has professionally prepared and presented the clinical conference entitled Wound Healing and Wound Management . Since the internship, he has been employed by Cobb Veterinary Emergency and Referral Clinic and has enjoyed providing quality emergency, surgical, and critical care while helping to bring a teaching and learning environment to a practical setting.
