Michael J. Fosina, FACHE, is president of NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, N.Y.
He also serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of 40,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations.
With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE
works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for healthcare executives dedicated to improving health.
Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Mr. Fosina served as the ACHE Regent for New York-Metropolitan New York from 2013 to 2016, and over the years he has served on many ACHE committees.
Mr. Fosina has spent several years at NewYork-Presbyterian as a member of the senior leadership team in a variety of capacities.
He has served in his current role since 2015.
Before that, he served as senior vice president and COO of NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital from 2013 to 2015; vice president of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and executive director of Allen Hospital from 2000 to 2013; and director of integration and accreditation from 1998 to March 2000 for the newly merged New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
From 1990 to 1998, he
served at former The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center
in New York in roles of increasing in scope and responsibility.
From 1985 to 1990 he worked at former Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.
In addition to his service to ACHE, Mr. Fosina is active on several boards of professional and community organizations, nursing homes and senior centers, including as an advisory board member for the University of Delaware, College of Health Sciences; a member of the board of trustees for Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation; a board member for the Council of Senior Centers (LiveOn NY); Westchester County Association; and the Business Council of Westchester.
He also remains active as a Fellow in the New York Academy of Medicine and is a former Health and Aging Policy Fellow and a Congressional Fellow.
Mr. Fosina received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware and a master's degree in public health from Columbia University School of Public Health.
