Clerk Michael Flowers
Michael Flowers Clerk Show Profile Michael Flowers Biography Michael Flowers, Sr. has been a resident of West Covina for more than 33 years. He served the federal government for 39 years in two capacities: from 1974-1978 he served in the United States Army and from 1979-2014 he served as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He retired from the Postal Service in 2014. Michael was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. His parents instilled in him a strong work ethic. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Army, where he was promoted to Sergeant. He attended Los Angeles Trade Tech and then transferred to Long Beach City College. After the completion of his military service, the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier hired Michael. He then moved to West Covina to be close to his older brother, who was raising his children in the city and spoke highly of it. Michael loved this city so much, he decided to set roots, marry, and raise his children here as well. Today, five different households of Michael's immediate family members reside in West Covina. Michael married Antoinette, in 1985 and they have three children; Tracie (wife, mother of three, and school teacher), Michael Jr. (father and college student) and Ariel (college student). Over the years as a letter carrier, Michael's job afforded him the opportunity to be accessible to the community. He was given the opportunity to listen and understand the concerns of the citizens. Because of the close relationships he established, he is involved in community activities that are designed to bond the citizens and increase awareness within the community, such as Neighborhood Watch.
