Michael T. Etzrodt, 73, of Upper Makefield, a businessman with a passion for "all things Bucks County," died in his sleep of a heart attack Saturday, July 27, at his home.
was the driving force behind the Bucks County Visitors Center

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Etzrodt was raised in Bensalem and was a Bucks County resident for 60 years.

Mr. Etzrodt graduated in 1957 from Bensalem High School, where he participated in football, wrestling, baseball, and track.
He earned a business degree from Rider College in 1961.

and Visitors Bureau
At the time of his death, he was the bureau's president.
Mr. Etzrodt also was head of the Bucks County Lodging Association, which boosts tourism.

daughter, is his
wife of 52 years, the former Mary Ella Henry; sons Michael T. Jr.
and Matthew Sr.; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
