According to Superintendent Michael Chinino, the three buildings are at capacity, and enrollment - which has grown by 56 percent in the last 10 years - continues to grow.

Approval of the bond issue would mean a $72 per year tax increase for the owner of a $120,000 home.
Meanwhile, neighboring Hoover-Schrum District 157 is seeking approval of two propositions - a 60-cent per $100 of equalized assessed valuation increase in the education fund rate and authority to sell $8.25 million in bonds to expand Hoover West School. The latter work would allow the district to phase out the 74-year-old Hoover Elementary School that is woefully overage and will be in need of extensive repairs if the bond issue fails.
The bond issue makes more sense to us than the considerable tax rate increase request.
