RYHT Presents: Michael Cardona
This month Raise Your Hand Texas is highlighting Michael Cardona, a principal from Northeast ISD who participated in the RYHT Leadership Program at Harvard.
Michael A. Cardona
is a native San Antonian who went through school in the parochial system.
has been married for 14 years and has two sons, ages 8 and 3 years old.
Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A & M University in 1989 and his Masters of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A & M University - Kingsville in 1995.
After graduating from Texas A & M University, Michael started working at Sea World of Texas.
entered the education profession in 1992 and started teaching in the San Antonio Independent School District
while earning his
certification through the alternative certification program at Region XX.
He worked in the San Antonio Independent School District for seven years as both a special education teacher and later as an administrator.
In 1999, Michael
moved to the North East Independent School District community as an Assistant Principal at John Nance Garner Middle School
He was a member of the Yearling family for two years before being appointed as Assistant Principal at Douglas MacArthur High School.
Michael spent five years as a MacArthur Brahma before being named Principal at Driscoll Middle School in July of 2006.
