STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - General Dynamics Land Systems has appointed Michael D. Bolon senior vice president of Enterprise Strategy and the company's chief technical officer, a new position, reporting to the president, Mark C. Roualet.
Sonya F. Sepahban has been appointed senior vice president of Engineering, Design and Development, replacing Bolon and reporting to the president; and Stephen K. Schultz has been appointed vice president of Advanced Programs, reporting to Bolon. Sonya F. Sepahban has been appointed senior vice president of Engineering, Design and Development, replacing Bolon and reporting to the president; and Stephen K. Schultz has been appointed vice president of Advanced Programs, reporting to Bolon. Bolon had served as General Dynamics Land Systems' senior vice president of Engineering, Design and Development since August 2000. He joined Chrysler Corporation in 1968 as an engineer in the defense power train engineering department. When General Dynamics acquired Chrysler Defense in 1982, Bolon was named deputy program manager for Tank Programs and led the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank engineering program. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering and program management, including appointments as vice president for Amphibious Systems in Woodbridge, Va., and vice president for Production and Delivery. Bolon holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree in Engineering, both from Wayne State University, Detroit. In 2003, he received the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from that institution.
